Get It Done Days

In these finals weeks of 2010, I can't help but look around and notice that I have a lot of stuff on my plate that I really wish I didn't. Loose ends, revisions, dropped balls, open accounts. What I really need to do is just grit my teeth and plow through it all; the fast band-aid approach, you know?

But misery loves company, and I can't be the only person in this kind of predicament. So in the interest of starting off 2011 with a clean slate for you and me, I'm declaring the rest of December Get It Done Days. Join me!

Participating is easy. You just have to stick to three simple rules:

1. Finish things you don't want hanging over your head in the new year.

2. When you finish something, tell us on Twitter with the #getitdone hashtag, or here in comments, so we can all celebrate your accomplishment!

3. Rinse and repeat.

I plan not to start any shiny new projects until I'm either done with my entire backlog, or I get a fresh start on Jan. 1. I'd encourage you to do the same. C'mon, you guys. The end of December doesn't have to be unproductive. Let's show this month who's the boss!

I needed this push. Hopefully it'll provide enough twitter chatter to keep me motivated through sheer force of shame if I don't.

Yes! Sheer force of shame! That's the spirit! ~_^

Great idea! I've already stopped new project work so that I can knuckle down. My big thing to tackle will be "unpack the dang moving boxes" but there are plenty of loose ends floating about as well.

Awesome idea! :) I'll try my best with the new year and we'll see how many of those hashtags I can tweet :P
