A Creator's Guide to Transmedia Storytelling
Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 12:18PM
Last December, in my year in review post, I mentioned that I'd like to write a nonfiction book based on my Writing for Transmedia series. My charming friend Guy Gonzalez happened to read it and thought it would be a fine idea to introduce me to his friend, Jason Allen Ashlock of Movable Type Literary Group.
We met for tea, we exchanged some emails, one thing led to another. Jason became my agent. (Imagine me flipping my hair here to get the full effect...) So exciting!
But that's not what I'm here to tell you today.
Remember not so long ago when I said I'd be doing something so exciting over the summer that I couldn't wait to tell you about? The thing is writing that book. As it turns out, Jason does great work, yo. And so I am thrilled beyond reason to announce that A Creator's Guide to Transmedia Storytelling will be published by McGraw-Hill in spring of 2012. (I know, right?!)
Thanks to Guy, thanks to Jason, and thanks to my editor Niki Papadopoulos for all playing a part in making this happen. And of course thanks to all of you who read the original series and planted the seed in the first place. This is going to be so much fun!

Based on the title I thought you had already written it! But alas we must wait. Congrats though and good luck, I'm looking forward to it.
Already pre-ordered. :)
Exciting in SO MANY WAYS.
I am already waiting in line.
Rock on.

We have to wait almost a year? *sigh* You're worse than J.K. Rowling.
Thank you, everyone!
Sorry you'll have to wait a while... but hey, in publishing terms, this is *blazingly fast* ~_^
This is amazing news, Andrea. I'm looking forward to it!

Thanks, Christy, Monique, Eddy, Anastasia! I honestly don't know what's better -- the actual deal, or the enthusiasm and support the community is giving me over it.
I love you all!
